Hi Everyone ! Im wondering what are your favourite avian (parrot/bird) books! Would you recommend it? What would you rate it out of 5 stars? What is it's name? Who is the Author? How has it helped you ? Please write any other additional information, it would be great for people to know about helpful books to add to their Parrot/Bird Library ! Post away

hhhmmm. When I first got birds I read everything but it has been awhile. I think my favorite was teaching tricks. Does that count as a book? It was actually a dvd by Tani Robar or something like that. I taught Kozzie to turn around (quickly forgot ), say hi and shake hands. He LOVED it. I wish I would have stuck with it. When he did something right I was supposed to give him his favorite treat and praise him. He got so excited when I got excited and praised him he dropped the treat and fluffed and strutted around so happy. He wants to shake hands with everyone ( which is a trap because he then gives the finger a nip. ) and he waves hi. That has actually morphed into him putting his toe in his beak and saying hi. I should do it again. He loved it.

Kozzie did learn to play dead but I don;t know if he still does that or not. We haven't done that in a long time.

Does Cinder play on his back? kozzie doesn't. I tried to teach him the somersault but I think gave up or that was when I stopped training.

not yet but he will lay on my hands or allow me to flip him onto his back laying on my hands. With the exception of holding onto my fingers hehe

Thats what Kozzie does. After alot of working he would let go of my fingers for a few minutes but he went back to holding on all the time now.
