Good Day Everyone, My dad, he hauls livestock ( he doesnt like the job, at all) Anyway's if a cow give's birth on the trailer, The truck driver has an option of keeping it, or letting it get killed. Today, their was a case such as thing, my dad decided to bring the calve home, like he would for any of the one's born on the trailer. (he hates letting the cows go for slaughter, if he can save one, i believe that is good enough for him) Anyway's the cow is probably about 14 hours old, it is 7AM. Still alive, they are going to be bringing him home, for me to take care of, he is brown and white. Photo's and information on his progress will follow. His mother either died in birth, or she was killed slightly after giving birth. He takes the bottle with alittle bit of encouragement, he needs to have the top of his mouth ticked before you can ease the 'teat' into his mouth from the bottle. hopefully this goes well ! Im hoping he will be strong and healthy Ive never tooken care of a orphan calf, but i have tooken care and bottle fed, a baby deer before. At least this is some more experiance for me ! -Tatianna

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright everyone ! Bad news: i dont have pictures yet... Good News: He is warmed up now, when he got here, he was an hour at least from dying, and hopefully we did enough to get him back on track to being alive. He is breathing normally, he is nice and warm, he will be inside the house for a few days, in our biggest dogs kennel, he still isnt strong enough to lift his head very well, but he can with effort. So he isnt strong enough to stand up yet. he is feeding, but we had to start feeding him through a oral syringe. The Nipple bottle, was to much work for him. He is really cute <3 Right now, he is just relaxing, ive tried to feed him alot of the special milk stuff we got him, and he took it with abit of encouragement, but right now he doesnt want anymore, i think he will need some time to just relax abit and etc. Im hoping that he doesnt have anything contagious, that could pass onto my parrots, they are in a seperate room but still... i dont know if he would, he is only 15 or so hours old ? Ill keep you all UPDATED ! It has been abit of a struggle, with holding his head up, and getting him to suck, but we did it Im Really hoping he will make it, Fingers Crossed ! Also, He is able to stretch now and he Moved his right leg inwards !
