I went straight to the horses mouth (or birds beak) for this info. Steve Garvin has been breeding GCC's for over 23 years and has devoloped numerous mutations. BEAUTIFUL birds!! At some point I hope to buy a bird from him!
Pick your all time favorite and then tell me why. If you like more than one...I don't blame you, so do I! But, my favorite one is the yellow-sided (with lots of red)!

The only thing I worry about is health concerns. these are mutations, what are the health aspects a couple years down the road? The breeder I bought Ace from 5 years ago said that all Green Cheeks are now dangerously inbred.
Plus, I don't think our normal color gets the attention it deserves. I love to look at Ace, he is so colorful. But I know we all feel that way about our babies. lol
But I do have to admit.....they sure are pretty!!

I Cant Vote as my Fav Colour is not their JADE I vote for - Double Factor Jade Pineapple Kim I would not be too concerned with Mutations with my experence with breeding and having birds Vet checked my mutations are Bigger & Srtonger birds than my normals (with the odd acception but that also happens with normals) Genetics proves you can breed all mutation colours out of a species and come back to normal/ Pure coloured birds with as little as 3 generations

He is beautiful. I work in a vet clinic and see problems with the blue factor in many dog breeds. Blue dobes seem more prone to demodex. That kind of thing. And that tends to make me worry. And people are so into the "designer" breeds and exotic color. But I am biased. Ace is normal color. And my favorite color in this world is green anyway. lol
I think that they are all extremely beautiful birds though. But will leave it to people like you to understand the breeding and effects.
