HELP!!!

Where is his cage? Is the room dark and quiet at night? Have you tried covering the cage? He should want to sleep 10-12 hours at night. Maybe give him a tent or box if he doesn't have one already? How is his cage situated, is it possible he feels insecure when left alone because it is against a window? Does he have toys he likes?
I have found that the only time Scooter is really vocal and ignoring him doesn't work fairly quickly is when he runs out of food. FWIW. Ignoring it has to be consistent and complete. Pairing it with giving him a better way to ask for attention also helps -- teach him to ring a bell, for example, and then make a point of praising him and giving him attention when he is quiet.

HELP!!!

I think Scootersmom had great suggestions that should definitely help. A few months ago my GCC became more vocal when we left the room for a minute and started squawking. We just bought a small squirt bottle and would say no in a firm voice and squirt the wall one time right near him (not at him) and after doing that a few times, he stopped. Now when we leave the room he says "come here buddy" which is much better I noticed that if the tv is on or the room isn't completely dark when we cover his cage, he starts squawking because he doesn't like to be distracted or disturbed when sleeping! Keep us posted!

Well here is the update. That had been going on for 3 weeks then all of sudden one day he stopped with the nonsense of son walking out of the room and him going nuts. We didnt do anything different. We live in a apartment so he is in center of the room not near window. Has plenty of toys and i rotate them with new ones. So not sure what it was about. He is much more pleasant. We do start covering him at night about 8. I go to bed at 9-10 so he makes one squack then thats it. So go figure these birds are really smart and know how to play the game...hehe. Well thanks for the info ladies.
